Historically, the region was predominantly Buddhist, resulting in poor Islamic awareness. To propagate and promote Islamic teachings, the organization established the first Islamic Seminary in the Ladakh region, known as Howza-e-Ilmiya Isna Asharia Kargil. In 1970, the organization initiated a network of Islamic learning centers (Makatibs) at the village level across the region. Presently, 80 centers are active, focusing on the Islamic upbringing of children and instilling moral values.
